More About Fillings ->

A composite (tooth-coloured) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. Tooth-coloured fillings are also used to replace old silver fillings. Composite fillings restore the affected tooth to its original shape or enhance its function and esthetic.

A tooth’s decayed or affected portion is removed and then filled with a white composite filling that closely matches the existing tooth colour. The fillings are placed, shaped, and polished precisely. They are durable and can give you a long-lasting, beautiful smile.

Care instructions are given at the conclusion of your treatment by your dentist and dental hygienist. Good oral hygiene practices, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the longevity of your new fillings.

Reasons you may need composite fillings: Decayed teeth, Chipped, cracked or broken teeth, Worn out teeth, Closing space between two teeth.

More About Root Canals ->

Root canal treatment is an effective and safe way to relieve dental pain and save your teeth. This treatment is recommended when the pulp of a tooth is inflamed or infected. If left untreated, the chronic infection in the bone may affect overall body health.

The pulp is the innermost part of the tooth that contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. The pulp creates the surrounding hard tissues of the tooth during development.

The inflammation or infection may have a variety of causes: deep decay, crack, chip, or injury in the tooth, repeated need for dental procedures on the tooth.

The process involves removing the infected or injured tissue (pulp) from inside the crown and roots of a tooth.

The dentist carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the root canal, then fills and seals the space with an inert material that decreases the chance of re-infection. A crown will be placed on the tooth to strengthen, protect and restore its full function.

Many of our patients feel comfortable during the procedure and are happy to be out of pain. Read through our patient testimonials and hear what they are saying about our Vancouver dental clinic and our Vancouver dentists.

More About Root Canals, Onlays & Inlays – Protect your tooth: a crown made with prevision within a few hours ->

A dental crown (or cap) encircles a tooth or dental implant to protect the tooth structure, and restore the normal functional and aesthetic contour of the tooth. With current technology, a crown could be made with precision within a few hours.

A crown is recommended when a tooth cannot be restored effectively with fillings or other types of restorations. Although there are several types of crowns, the most popular choice is porcelain (tooth-coloured) crown It is natural-looking, strong and fabricated with precision.

In the past, a crown would take 2 appointments over one week’s time to complete, during which a patient would need a temporary crown on a tooth. With new technology, we are now able to provide patients with a new long-lasting crown within several hours.

Porcelain crowns are highly durable and will last for many years, but like any dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced due to tear and wear. Good oral hygiene practices, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the longevity of your new dental restorations.

Some reasons you may need crowns: Tooth has undergone root canal treatment, broken or fractured teeth, decayed teeth, fractured fillings, to strengthen a tooth or cosmetic enhancement.

FAQ: What’s the difference between a crown and an onlay, inlay or bridge?

One commonality between a crown, inlay and onlay is that they are all prepared outside of your mouth, then are permanently cemented onto the tooth by your dentist.

An Onlay is sometimes referred to as partial crown because it covers less tooth structure than a crown and conserves more of your natural tooth.

An Inlay is similar to onlay except it does not cover any of the chewing cusps.

Bridges enhance cosmetic and strengthen the tooth. They are very thin pieces of durable, custom-made tooth-shaped porcelain that are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful smile.

More About TMJ & TMD Dentistry – Pain does not have to be a way of life ->

The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) is one of the most complex joints of the body. TMJ and TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) dentistry is multifactorial. TMD Symptoms may manifest in many different ways including: Headaches or migraines, Jaw pain or noises, Neck pain, Pain when chewing, Teeth grinding or clenching, Limited Mouth Opening, Ear Ache, Ear pain, Snoring, Sleep apnea. 4% of the population may have no noticeable symptoms.

At Deerwater Dental Wellness, we help adults and children living with these TMD symptoms get well in a systematic and non-invasive way. You will not be stuck with the pain for life.

Dr. Wang has developed a treatment approach called S.O.S. Tx for TMD and Chronic Pain which aims at breaking the vicious cycle of stress triggers and enhance the body’s ability to handle these various stressors. Stress triggers may include psychological and physical destabilizing factors, environmental, orthopedic/structural, habitual stressors and the ones related to a past injury. The S.O.S. Tx for TMD and Chronic Pain* allows the body to restore body hemostasis that leads to tension release.

We understand the complexities of craniofacial pain, sleep disorders, and the oral somatic link. To successfully treat these symptoms, we use a multidisciplinary approach and provide a highly comprehensive examination using the latest knowledge and technologies. The goal is to properly diagnose the root cause – the underlying core problem to a patient’s perpetuating pain.

After proper diagnosis, we triage and prioritize treatment for rehabilitation for each unique patient. In a systematic way, treatment focuses on what the body reflects as the highest priority. In a relatively short time, many people find a significant or complete resolution to their chronic pain.

S.O.S. Tx for TMD and Chronic Pain treatment is gentle, safe and non-invasive. It does not require surgery, needles, direct adjustments or ischemic muscle treatment. The treatment process may require supportive therapy with temporary oral appliances to orthotic appliances to support the healing of the jaw joint function.

Our dentists have completed intensive training and extensive clinical experience in TMJ dysfunction, craniofacial pain, and sleep-disordered breathing. They continue to seek and stay abreast of knowledge and skills to provide the most advanced and effective care to their patients.

More About Sleep Disorder Dentistry – Sleep Well, Breathe Well & Be Well ->

Good health includes healthy sleep. Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is a prevalent but under-diagnosed disease. Sleep Apnea is a medical disorder characterized by abnormal pauses in breathing or episodes of shallow breathing during sleep. The most common form of sleep apnea is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

Common signs and symptoms of sleep apnea: Loud snoring, Chronic Daytime Fatigue, Excessive Daytime Sleepiness, Choking or Gasping While Asleep, Witnessed Apneas, Morning Headaches, Dry mouth in the mornings, Acid Reflux/GERD, Frequent Trips to the Bathroom.

Insufficient oxygen during sleep, fragmented sleep, daytime sleepiness, and fatigue usually result in an overload of several vital organs and is linked to many problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, anxiety, and depression, automobile crashes, work accidents, impaired work productivity, academic performance, early death and reduced quality of life.

Most people assume they are breathing and getting enough oxygen during sleep; few realize that nighttime teeth grinding and clenching (bruxing) is an unconscious effort to prevent suffocation. The repeated action all night long over extended periods of time wears down the skeletal structure and the joints resulting in TMJ pain, headaches, musculoskeletal pain, TMJ dysfunctions, and facial neuralgias, and teeth pain.

Treatment recommendations depends on the medical diagnosis, usually made after a Sleep Test. Depending on the diagnosis and severity of the condition, treatment may include wearing a CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure device), Oral Appliances and TMJ/TMD treatment. Other recommendations include behaviour and lifestyle changes.

Oral appliances for an obstructive sleep disorder are unique and require a specific design, fabrication, and customized fittings. Specialized equipment is used to measure the airway and customize the design. These appliances normalize the jaw and tongue positions to achieve optimal breathing. To maintain success, regular follow up and monitor is required.

Children can also have sleep-disordered breathing. Adult therapies for OSA such as CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) would not be suitable for children as it would arrest skeletal development of the growing child.

At Deerwater Dental Wellness, our treatment goal for children is to naturally open up the airway to allow for better breathing and long-term health. Treatments may involve normalizing jaw development and growth, upper and lower jaw relationship changes, Myobrace / myofunctional appliances and myofunctional training, diet and lifestyle changes.

More About Migraines & Muscle Pain – Do you get severe throbbing head pain? Do you have neck pain or facial pain? Sensitive to light and sounds? Feel nauseous? Have difficulty concentrating? Do your mood change? ->

Migraines and orofacial muscle pain reduce the quality of life. Even day-to-day activities at home or work can become challenging when an individual suffers from these chronic symptoms.

Oftentimes, headaches, migraines, head, and facial pain and musculoskeletal pain are symptoms of a greater problem happening in the body. Patients may be surprised that chronic migraines or orofacial muscle pain may be related to their jaw.

Some causes of migraines and muscle pain may include macro traumas such as automobile accidents, sports injuries, accidents, etc. or micro traumas such as clenching and grinding of the teeth.

At Deerwater Dental Wellness, we believe the key to long-term relief of chronic pain is in the proper diagnosis of the root causes, rather than treatment of the symptoms. After proper diagnosis, a treatment plan is customized for each patient targeting the individual body’s priorities.

From a dental physician’s perspective, Deerwater has consolidated knowledge to provide a no-surgical and non-invasive treatment approach called S.O.S Tx for TMD and Chronic Pain to break the vicious cycle of stress triggers and enhance the body’s ability to handle these various stressors. Stressors may include psychological and physical destabilizing factors, environmental, orthopaedic/structural, habitual stressors and the ones related to past injury. Treating these stressors allows the body to restore body hemostasis that leads to tension release.

Once the body is relieved of tension, further treatment is then facilitated for the body to experience rehabilitation in order to resolve pain and promote proper healing of the chronic conditions.

S.O.S Tx for TMD and Chronic Pain* treatment is gentle, safe and non-invasive. It does not require surgery, needles, direct adjustments or ischemic muscle treatment. The treatment process may range from supportive therapy using temporary oral appliances to orthotic appliances to support healing of the jaw joint while maintaining the jaw function. Other adjuncts may include nutritional counselling, supplement regimens, physical medicine treatment (e.g. cold laser therapy, meridian stimulation, ETPS, neuro-mechanical acupuncture), and Pain Neutralization Treatment.

More About Oral Day/Night Appliances – Not all oral appliances are the same ->

An oral appliance may be worn to protect teeth that are worn, cracked, chipped, sensitive or painful. Special types of oral orthotic or sleep appliances are used for treating symptoms include grinding / clenching, jaw pain / noises, headaches, muscle pain, ear pain, snoring and sleep apnea.

At Deerwater, we carefully design an appliance that best meets your needs.

Effective appliance design relies on proper medical diagnosis. Thus, it is important to discuss your conditions with us and your family physician.

Common TMJ appliances may relieve symptoms and prevent further damage to your teeth and jaw joints. Customized TMJ/TMD treatment may include wearing an oral orthotic appliance for day and night.

These orthotic appliances are designed to break the vicious cycle of functional and physical triggers that contribute to the break down of your mouth and jaw. Orthotic appliances support healing and rehabilitation

Oral appliances for obstructive sleep disorder are tailor-made for each patient. The appliances require specific design, fabrication, and customized fittings. These individualized appliances normalize the patient’s jaw and tongue positions to achieve optimal breathing. Proper follow-up is essential to assure treatment efficacy.

Oral orthotic appliances are not suitable for children. The appliances interrupt the growing children’s skeletal development. At Deerwater Dental Wellness, our treatment goal for children is to naturally open up their airway to improve breathing and long-term health. Treatments may involve upper and lower jaw expansion and relationship adjustments, myofunctional appliances and training, diet and lifestyle changes.

Our dentists have completed intensive training with extensive clinical experience in TMJ dysfunction, craniofacial pain and sleep-disordered breathing. Contact us to learn about the types of appliances suitable for your treatment needs.

More About Orthodontics – So much more than just having straight teeth ->

Do you have crooked teeth? Crowding? Bad bite? Hard to clean areas? Trouble chewing hard, crunchy or chewy foods? Does your face seem unbalanced?

Do you have trouble breathing through your nose? Do you breathe through your mouth? Do you have poor, restless sleep?

Orthodontics is more than just having straight teeth. The reason that teeth become crooked may not be due to genetic or the size of your mouth! At Deerwater Dental Wellness, our assessments aim at correcting crooked teeth plus reversing the causes of crooked teeth/bad bite, so that the function of your mouth is stable and in harmony with the rest of your body.

Our treatments aim to give you: Straighter teeth, A stable, functional bite, A beautiful smile, a balanced and relaxed facial expression, Pain-free jaw joint and facial muscles.

Children matter! Giving them the best chance at achieving their full potential is our passion. At every recare exam, our doctors monitor the growth and development of our growing children patients. We act at the first bad signs in the way a child’s face is growing or how the teeth are coming in. We use “interceptive orthodontics” as an early intervention to reduce the complexity and need for second phase orthodontics later on.

Some orthodontic problems stem from orofacial – myofunctional issues (mouth breathing, thumb sucking, tongue thrust, improper swallow, etc.) which hinder children’s growth and development in their jaw and face. Hence, retraining the muscle function and habits of the face and tongue may reduce the chance or eliminate the need of extracting healthy teeth, surgery and wearing retainers in the future.

Benefits of Interceptive Orthodontics observed:

  • Straightened teeth
  • Optimized facial development
  • Alignment of the jaws
  • Overall better health
  • Healthy eating habits
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Improved airway and breathing
  • Better concentration and attention
  • Corrected swallow and Improved posture

Orthodontic treatments traditionally happen during adolescents when all permanent teeth are in the mouth. Great results are possible, however, the use of retainers is necessary to prevent relapse and ensure stability.

Treatment time may also be compromised due to competing forces in the mouth related to aberrant myofunctional habits. At Deerwater, we provide early intervention to children and adolescents to help optimize their orthodontic treatments.

Adults and older adults are also candidates for orthodontics. Reasons for orthodontic treatment may be for esthetics, difficulty with chewing, jaw or face pain, relapse after early orthodontics, etc. Whatever the reason may be, many adults benefit with better health and smile from successful orthodontic treatment.

More About Braces – Braces are common device for orthodontic treatment ->

At Deerwater Dental Wellness, we use metal or clear braces. These brackets are glued onto the teeth and a wire then goes through each bracket.

With the advancement in technology, the self-ligating brackets eliminate the need for elastics or metal “ties”, so your braces do not need “tightening”.

The wires are light, high-tech shape-memory wires that move teeth gently and quickly. When all components are used together, results are faster treatment, fewer appointments, greater comfort and consistent high-quality results.

More About Aligners – Simply straighter teeth ->

Clear aligners are very popular because of esthetics and comfort. They are virtually unnoticeable and a discreet way to straighten permanent teeth. The trays are fully removable, making it easy for patients to eat, brush and floss and to maintain a healthy smile.

The clear and removable aligner trays are designed to correct minor misalignments such as crowding or gaps. With the doctor’s treatment plan, each aligner is custom fit to progressively advance your teeth into their ideal position, leaving you with a healthy and beautiful smile.

Clear aligners do have limitations to creating a bite in harmony with your jaw and stomatognathic function. They do not address myofunctional and skeletal underlying issues. Make sure you understand what are the planes involved in relationship to your concern, weigh out the pros and cons to using clear aligners as part of your comprehensive treatment to reach your goal as well as wellness at the end treatment!

Treatment time varies depending on each patient’s case. To achieve optimum results, it is recommended that you wear the aligners in your mouth all the time except when eating, drinking hot liquids, or brushing and flossing. To maintain your straight smile, there are several options that the doctor will discuss with you.

More About Myobrace® and Myofunctional Training – The natural way to straight teeth ->

Research shows that crooked teeth and poor facial development are not caused by hereditary factors.

Myobrace® System is a preventive pre-orthodontic treatment that focuses on addressing the underlying causes of crooked teeth, often without the need for braces, allowing for natural growth and development.

Myobrace® can be used to prevent or reduce the severity of crooked teeth, and prevent relapse after traditional orthodontic treatment. It can be used independently, pre-orthodontically or in conjunction with orthodontics.

Used by dentists and orthodontists in over 100 countries, Myobrace® has successfully treated millions of people worldwide.

Treatment involves using a series of removable intra-oral appliances that are worn for 1-2 hours each day plus overnight during sleep. The appliances assist in correcting the patient’s poor oral habits and expand the arch-form while exerting light forces to align the teeth and jaws.

The program also integrates myofunctional training or Myobrace® Activities, which further corrects the myofunctional habits causing the incorrect dental and jaw development. These activities are to be performed twice daily in conjunction with wearing the Myobrace® appliance.

Activities consist of a series of breathing, tongue, swallowing, lip and cheek exercises to correct aberrant muscle function related to these constant motions.

Today, tooth decay is on the rise due to high levels of added sugar in processed foods. The Myobrace® System incorporates a nutritional video series aimed to educate children and parents on the need for a good diet in order to prevent tooth decay, improve jaw development and how it is part of growing straight teeth naturally.

More About Teeth Whitening – Whiten teeth with long lasting results ->

Our professional deep whitening system works. It brightens your smile by removing discolouration from years of stain built up on and in your teeth. This whitening system gives you a healthy, beautiful appearance you can confidently smile about.

At Deerwater Dental Wellness, we have a wonderful whitening system with minimal sensitivity and has long-lasting results. Patients experience a “wow effect” when they see substantial improvement in their teeth colour. Depending on the type of staining you have, we will recommend whitening treatment suitable for you. We use a non-laser technique to safely remove stains for the average patient to the difficult tetracycline stained cases.

We would love to help you achieve that stunning smile you have always wanted. What better time than now!

FAQ: Does it whiten my fillings and crowns too?

In general, teeth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel. Our Kor whitening system can lighten your old composite fillings to a degree, but it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. which can be done after whitening so they will match the newly whitened teeth.

How long does it last? Most patients do not need to touch up for several years, but others may want a little touch-up monthly to maintain optimum results depending on your habits in consuming coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco.

I experienced a lot of sensitivity before. Is this any different? Yes. Most of our patients experience none to mild sensitivity. Some mild sensitivity is normal and transitional during whitening. We use preventative protocols to avoid and minimize sensitivity. We will monitor you closely and help you address any sensitivity if it occurs. The sensitivity generally subsides shortly after the whitening is over.

How long does it take? It depends on the degree and type of staining and desired level of whitening. The first appointment involves taking impressions (mould) of your teeth to fabricate custom plastic trays. Subsequent appointments can vary from 2 – 3 conditioning appointments and an in-office deep whitening treatment.

More About Gum Grafting – Weak gums made strong again. ->

Gum or gingiva surrounds the bone and tooth. Sometimes, the gums recede away from the tooth which exposes the root area causing uncomfortable sensitivity to cold, hot or tactile stimulation.

The appearance of the teeth appear longer and brushing around that area may be uncomfortable and difficult, in turn, making the tooth more susceptible to root cavities and bleeding gums. Factors such as periodontal disease, toothbrush abrasion, occlusal trauma or weak existing gum anatomy may predispose one to gum recession.

When detected early, preventative home care techniques are taught to minimize progression. However, if the gum recession advances, gum grafting may be recommended.

Gum grafting is a very predictable procedure with minimal risk of any complication. The procedure involves taking a thin piece of tissue from the roof of the mouth and transferring it to the recessed area.

The roof of your mouth will be covered by a thin stent to allow for healing while the grafted site will regenerate, restoring and strengthening what was lost. Another option is to use medically processed, donated dermal tissue. This avoids the need for a donor site from the roof of the mouth.

If you have any questions about receding gums, our doctors are happy to answer any questions you may have.

More About Crown Lengthening – Exposing more tooth structure ->

Crown lengthening is a procedure that exposes more of the tooth structure by removing excess gum tissue and/or bone to create a new gum-to-tooth relationship.

Often it is recommended when more tooth structure is needed for the new crown or bridge to fit properly to the tooth and not become loose. Also, when the crown is far enough away from the bone surrounding the tooth, the gums stay healthy and future irritation and inflammation can be avoided.

The margin of a crown should be cleanable when you brush and floss to prevent decay and gum disease. Some common examples of when crown lengthening would be recommended are when decay develops under an old crown margin or a deep fracture happens below the gum line.

Esthetic enhancements of a “gummy smile” is also another indication for the procedure. Crown lengthening can be performed on a single tooth or multiple teeth.

The technique can be done with a laser or microsurgery techniques. Healing after crown lengthening can vary, but depending on the situation, restorative work can be started as soon as six weeks post-surgery.

More About Extraction – Tooth removal is sometimes the best health option->

Permanent teeth are meant to last a lifetime, but in some circumstances, your dentist may recommend an extraction as the best option for your oral health. Most often, a tooth is removed due to trauma, extensive tooth decay, severe bone loss or crowding.

For example, wisdom teeth removal may be recommended if the tooth is in an awkward or potentially harmful position due to lack of space.

Over time, following a tooth extraction, the other teeth may tend to shift, which changes your bite and body structure. The bone and soft tissue in that area also tend to shrink which can leave insufficient bone volume for future replacement of the tooth with something like an implant.

If replacing with a bridge, the loss in bone volume may also lead to a gap between the teeth and the gum underneath the dental bridge.

For these reasons, our doctors will assess the immediate and long-term impact of tooth extraction. At the time of extraction, an important option to consider is preserving the bone volume to reduce future costs and extra surgical procedures. Additionally, a more solid bone foundation keeps your range of treatment options wider for future tooth replacement.

While some extractions are simple, others can be more complex requiring the removal of gum tissue or bone. Regardless of whether your extraction is simple or surgical, it is important to follow the doctor’s post-extraction instructions closely to speed up recovery and avoid complications.

Our dental care team is happy to answer your questions and provide you with professional advice, diagnosis and treatment for your oral health needs.

More About Bone Grafting – Building a stronger foundation ->

Bone can resorb over time from various reasons. One reason is a lack of stimulation in the bone around the area where a tooth was lost. Another reason could be denture pressure or compression on the gum and bone ridge.

Periodontal disease around a tooth may cause loss of bone. Further loss of bone volume and density decreases the long-term stability, function and comfort of any tooth-replacement option.

With bone grafting, we can now regenerate bone that was lost and even regain beyond what was lost. The bone can come from your own body, but typically it is from a donor human or animal bone that has been thoroughly processed at very high temperatures to make it sterile and safe to avoid the potential for immune rejection and contamination.

The bone provides a framework for which your own bone and cells can grow and fill in.

Prior to implant placement, the doctors will assess the existing bone quality, height and width to ensure it will support the forces of chewing with the right size of dental implant.

Consideration will be made for enhancement of esthetic appearance and hygiene maintenance. This gives our patients a chance to regain their health by ultimately replacing missing teeth in an area with strong bone foundation that is in harmony with the rest of the body, thus making chewing food enjoyable again.

More About Sedation Dentistry – Calming fear and dental anxiety ->

Sedation dentistry offers an excellent way to provide a safe and anxiety-free dental experience to those who are afraid of dental treatment. Oral conscious sedation involves taking some medicine by mouth before the procedure and topped up during the procedure as required.

Patients are awake, but very calm and relaxed throughout the dental visit. Most patients do not even recall the smells, sounds or procedure afterwards. Safety and compliance are important aspects, thus, a friend or family member must drive the patient to and from the appointment.

Some advantages associated with sedation dentistry:

  • Anxiety is alleviated
  • Few side effects
  • More can be accomplished during each visit
  • No needles
  • No pain
  • Safe
  • Procedures seem to take less time

If you have questions or concerns about conscious sedation dentistry, please contact our office.

More About HcPRP – Accelerate your body’s healing and regeneration naturally ->

HcPRP (High concentration Platelet Rich Plasma) is a technique that involves extracting your body’s own natural healing and regenerative elements from your own blood.

A small blood sample is taken from the person being treated and put into a centrifuge that spins at high speed. This process separates platelets from other blood components. The high concentration of platelets is then added to the surgical area.

Platelets are the smallest cells in the blood and functions in blood clot formation and growth factors help to heal wounds by stimulating stem cells to regenerate new host tissue as quickly as possible.

HcPRP is very effective in the post-treatment healing process and is often used for regenerative medicine procedures such as bone grafting and soft tissue grafting prior to implant placement. It is very safe and convenient since the small amount of blood used comes from the patient’s own body.

Other benefits include lowering the risk of infection and accelerating the healing process after surgery. Ultimately, this allows the patient to feel more comfortable immediately after the procedure and speed up healing time in a natural way.

Come speak to our dentists about the benefits of HcPRP and when it may be suitable for you. Feel to read through our patient testimonials and hear what they are saying about our Vancouver dental clinic and our Vancouver dentists

More About Laser Dentistry – Lasers have assisted in improving dentistry and overall wellness for decades. ->

At Deerwater Dental Wellness, two systems are used: one for soft tissue surgical applications and the other promotes healing and helps to relieve pain.

The LightScalpel CO2 Laser System is an advanced surgical equipment which uses a specific wavelength of laser for intraoral soft tissue surgical procedures for cutting, removing and/or vaporization of soft tissue. This light CO2 laser contacts the soft tissue in a very narrow area with high precision, which minimizes bleeding and reduces post-operative swelling, discomfort and healing time for patients.

Some procedures that use CO2 laser system are: Crown lengthening, Gum grafting, Gum reshaping, Tongue-Tie/ Lip-Tie release, Removal of soft tissue, cysts and fibroma.

The innovative and patented Multiwave Locked System (MLS) Therapy Laser technology is the most advanced laser therapy system which delivers controlled laser energy to help patients relieve pain, inflammation and edema. It promotes the body’s natural healing process and stimulates regeneration of tissue at the cellular level providing fast relief while restoring soft tissue metabolism.

MLS Laser Therapy is safe and effective. Their patented technology ensures there is no thermal tissue damage. The treatment site may feel a comfortable warming sensation.

Conditions that benefit from MLS Laser Therapy are: TMD injuries and pain, Neurological and general pain, Muscle soreness, strains or tears, Tendon and ligament injuries, Pre and post-surgery, Anti-Inflammation, Anti-swelling, Wounds and ulcerations.

LightScalpel Laser – Pediatric Dentistry and the LightScalpel CO2 Laser: Many soft tissue procedures in pediatric dentistry, such as release of infant lip-ties and tongue-ties (laser frenectomy), can be safely and efficiently performed with the LightScalpel dental CO2 laser with repeatable and predictable tissue response, gentle (sub-millimeter) and fast ablation and instant hemostasis. The clear and bloodless operating field, the extremely precise tissue vaporization, and, reportedly, relatively minimal postoperative pain make the CO2 laser the instrument of choice for soft tissue pediatric dentistry.

More About Implant Dentistry – Dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime ->

Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide excellent support and stability to dental prosthetics, such as dentures. There may be many reasons for dental implants: Replacing missing teeth, Restoring and enhancing chewing, speech and digestion, resolving TMD or adding support to your jaw functional structure, Securing and stabilizing removable dentures and enhancing patient’s comfort and confidence.

Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. The teeth attached to implants are natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile! They are strong and durable.

The process of getting implants usually requires a number of visits over several months. At Deerwater Dental Wellness, we aim to restore and enhance your smile in harmony with your body. Prior to placement of the dental implant, our assessment also looks at the root cause of why the natural tooth failed in the first place because the original reason may compromise the stability and longevity of any replacement tooth.

Accurate data is taken, analyzed and planned out to achieve a high degree of accuracy on the day of implant placement procedure. Healing and integration of the bone around the implant usually takes up to six months. After the healing period, new artificial teeth will be securely attached to the implant.

Because the titanium in the implants fuses with your jawbone, the implants will not slip, make noise or cause bone damage the way fixed bridgework or dentures might. The materials cannot decay like your own teeth.

Good oral hygiene and eating habits, alongside regular dental visits for preventative care, will aid in the life of your dental implant.

If you have questions about dental implants or would like to schedule a consultation, please contact our office. Feel free to check out our patient testimonials and hear what they are saying about our Vancouver dental clinic and our Vancouver dentists

After exhausting all the different typical departmental approaches which were limiting in the results, Dr. Wang was fortunate to have come across advance regenerative medicine through platelet rich plasma and autologous stem cell therapy and a systematic approach to the body’s prioritisation and structural compensation. This lead to treatment direction according to what the brain perceives as highest priority and resolution of chronic conditions. She understands what is required to restore the harmony between the functional planes of the body: neurologic, musculo-skeletal and circulatory.
Dr. Wang attained her Doctorate in Medicine Dentaire (DMD) in 1996 at the University of Laval in Quebec, Canada with awards and recognition from The American Society of Dentistry for Children, American Academy of Oral Facial Pain, Academy of Operative Dentistry, Quintessence Award for Academic Achievement.
